I admit it. I love to surf through Pinterest and pin all these wonderful ideas! I especially love that I can go back to my pins for inspiration, or sometimes to purchase an item, or to get a great new recipe. <br />
<br />
So I have been seeing these amazing painted fences on Pinterest. While I would love to paint my fence to add some fun and color to my backyard, I have a shared fence and painting it is not an option. I have thought about it for a while and decided to paint a garden gate that I can put in my garden. Problem solved! I was able to purchase the 4 ft fence boards at Lowe's for $1.38 each!! I used some scrap wood to anchor them together on the backside.<br />
<br />
It's not perfect but it looks so adorable in the garden! I can hardly wait for some of the plants to creep up the sides....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg274ICzCPOcCEsco4klFwN6Rs3BtnSzkLEYKP2TBO1QlDmUh0rRUjZIJeIRBa4Vw1booUUCzPBMStvOlWqvMQ583HjnctW8GVgk0mK7OfTJqhMjPcMxZI1EgFnClClrTvCAkmDutZbOIal/s1600/IMG_0424.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg274ICzCPOcCEsco4klFwN6Rs3BtnSzkLEYKP2TBO1QlDmUh0rRUjZIJeIRBa4Vw1booUUCzPBMStvOlWqvMQ583HjnctW8GVgk0mK7OfTJqhMjPcMxZI1EgFnClClrTvCAkmDutZbOIal/s400/IMG_0424.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I decided that I should paint the fence boards a light whitewash to help it stand out in the garden. I have used all outdoor paints so it should stand up to the weather. I will say it was not nearly as easy as I thought it would be! One - the boards are really rough. I even sanded them some. Two - the boards do soak up the paint quickly. And three - it is a BIG surface! My son helped my paint the leaves and pick out colors. I learned that it was much easier to use a thicker brush heavily loaded with paint. It is so humid here that I painted inside the house (brought the fence in the night before to acclimate the wood to the inside temps). Once it was dry I set it outside. I have placed it in the garden but first added a light coat of polycrylic in hopes the colors will stay nice and bright.<br />
<br />
I just love it! We have gone a bit silly painting old fence boards here! Oh, see the little white boards sticking out at the sides? Those are the backing boards I used to hold it all together. I could not find the saw when I was putting it together and told myself I would cut them off after I painted. Not. I have hung birdhouses, small lanterns, and even a small container of climbing vines on them! Really integrated it into the garden.<br />
<br />
Enjoy your day!Terri Burnettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05154996148528729574noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5808183920042468170.post-86923126649535579602016-06-17T09:11:00.000-07:002016-06-17T09:11:53.006-07:00Playing with colorGood morning everyone. It has been a bit since I posted a project. Life has consumed me! I am sure some of you completely understand. I look forward to school ending each year so that I can spend time with all of my children. However, as they have grown and moved to college, the time isn't as specified as it once was. I am learning to enjoy all my small moments with each one of the children whether it is an hour or a week. Seems so crazy to think that life was simpler when they were all small and at home!<br />
<br />
So, I carved out some play time in the craft room - finally. I had some cards that needed to be made, a few vinyl projects to make, and a bunch of cleaning to do! First I want to show you a little pure fun I had:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4WO1p0RFbRhIMjT1iAeeXSd6uYIJ0-lW4Dr8G66-xlPJrskD8XEO7ZieLr1SvP_JRVPxLz6U338ayfjz2G14kmLJ1YyRt5DbXnzYVW8d9-6e-O0j18rmprvKf4nu5Ls2RJJlqBDg9drpt/s1600/IMG_0402.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4WO1p0RFbRhIMjT1iAeeXSd6uYIJ0-lW4Dr8G66-xlPJrskD8XEO7ZieLr1SvP_JRVPxLz6U338ayfjz2G14kmLJ1YyRt5DbXnzYVW8d9-6e-O0j18rmprvKf4nu5Ls2RJJlqBDg9drpt/s320/IMG_0402.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I was thinking about Father's Day coming up and decided to make a fun tag for my dads gift. <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a> has some of the best images. Looking through my stash I found several of my favs and decided to add them all to the tag. Somehow I ended up using most from the Through the looking glass sheets. Once I had adhered all the images on different levels I covered the entire thing in clear gesso. I chose my color scheme and using my fingers began blending all the colors. I just could not get a good pic to show the depth. But I am hap[y with it.<br />
<br />
Next up, a vinyl project. My boys run cross country and track and have plenty of ribbons and medals from those events. For several years I have promised to make a display for them. Here is what I made:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOOqwHR9PKm01TPgaV73QHGzkgafrKcXIvYinEQJ0UkEwUkAMFalJHuEMOYzsRrY4Bdt0SUSrotYkHHsgxbbScc6DCwwZLzPVWOMYtDeUhfMJ6BSyeBkav33-nmoIKw04ZHjhMmjkwuBg4/s1600/IMG_0422.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOOqwHR9PKm01TPgaV73QHGzkgafrKcXIvYinEQJ0UkEwUkAMFalJHuEMOYzsRrY4Bdt0SUSrotYkHHsgxbbScc6DCwwZLzPVWOMYtDeUhfMJ6BSyeBkav33-nmoIKw04ZHjhMmjkwuBg4/s400/IMG_0422.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a 12 x 12 board I bought from the hobby store and spray painted navy. I cut the design from 631 vinyl and applied it to the board. I let my board dry for several days before adding the vinyl because I was worried about the vinyl lifting my paint off - but it didn't! I dabbed white acrylic paint through my vinyl and then removed all the vinyl when done. I did have to do some fine touch ups but I love it! (Can you spot my mistake? Look in the wing of the shoe - I apparenty left a small piece of vinyl there! oh well) I made one for each of the boys and one of my sons friends. My thought was that as they need more room for medals they can add more cup hooks on the bottom and sides of the board. My oldest had over 200 medals so he has a lot more hooks and we hung them 5 per hook. Looks awesome hanging on the wall.<br />
<br />
The summer heat has begun in Texas. Since I don't like the high humidity I am hoping to get some things done in the craft room! Be inspired today - and stay cool!<br />

No bling. No fuss. Just simple. Especially when an image is so beautiful that you want to showcase it. I find that so many of the images from <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a> are so stunning that I really want the image to be front and center.<br />
<br />
I love having some favorite images on hand to use for cards. Today I thought I would share a few that showcase the image - plain and simple. <br />
<br />
Both of the first 2 are small and simple. Great for thank you notes or a quick wish. I have used images from Bluebird of Happiness collage sheets.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipRsyn5qjsZYSCpq-MrEU9h5bZ61SQV3I0tq-1rWu-ILmTlDs3V5hTd5mtUTm6JWtgxceZxjlbOn1dsTxAzY7fidKYzE1xQf_lCrw1FuB5BU6vEvO6XQ2mF2Oyw0zIiBXhD5HCGbSf8OOY/s1600/IMG_0373.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipRsyn5qjsZYSCpq-MrEU9h5bZ61SQV3I0tq-1rWu-ILmTlDs3V5hTd5mtUTm6JWtgxceZxjlbOn1dsTxAzY7fidKYzE1xQf_lCrw1FuB5BU6vEvO6XQ2mF2Oyw0zIiBXhD5HCGbSf8OOY/s400/IMG_0373.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4Wve3SQZfTEqfMEMJTTqRL7zFy62XiuajwY1L5tQzANIeq6B88UTm_6X2K6LDJj30ObJttRtnLVjjjiWel_c-1UPq98V0zRgjE-1BptLhODYPIpdRfNBpQpQvRvl-QBH_L-xBKCb4We3K/s1600/IMG_0374.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4Wve3SQZfTEqfMEMJTTqRL7zFy62XiuajwY1L5tQzANIeq6B88UTm_6X2K6LDJj30ObJttRtnLVjjjiWel_c-1UPq98V0zRgjE-1BptLhODYPIpdRfNBpQpQvRvl-QBH_L-xBKCb4We3K/s400/IMG_0374.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This one may not seem so simple, but I have tried to use "things on my desk" with a few images. The bird is from Bluebird of Happiness and the flowers are all from Pretty Petals. It is a super quick and easy design.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiipDCqQ8H59xjtLScVhpmBCwGJTwffrLnqshweRKIjJT79LjRt8F1NiuiEryZt2vqAJ_CnNiw_iRAybSGrtPYmYbfwRuzqyDIcgWU0jUH6EuC7b6Hh8VImrJZKYmMIHQkwcEiFAwUE-9u1/s1600/IMG_0372.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiipDCqQ8H59xjtLScVhpmBCwGJTwffrLnqshweRKIjJT79LjRt8F1NiuiEryZt2vqAJ_CnNiw_iRAybSGrtPYmYbfwRuzqyDIcgWU0jUH6EuC7b6Hh8VImrJZKYmMIHQkwcEiFAwUE-9u1/s400/IMG_0372.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Try some simplicity.....use a Gecko Galz image to make a quick and simple project. Have a great Sunday!</div>

Although it seems like the weather is spring one day and winter the next at times. The beautiful flowers are in bloom. My climbing rose has already bloomed and been trimmed. Butterflies are fluttering around my garden. So, I have been inspired!<br />
<br />
First, I added the month of April to my craft room calendar. I chose several lovely images from Gecko Galz. I used images from the Butterfly Kisses (find it <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">here</a>). The background is an Authentique paper. I matted each image in a deep brown so that they would pop off the background. I added the iridescent green ribbon through the middle and then the images. To finish I added some punched greenery and a few butterflies that I fussy cut from the Butterfly Kisses image sheet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN__J7IzRNMEuhJ1qNR9s_7VzpDJZIE1NfkhClxSCHbx9CpO4LxMZBVeqxmLJYTSHL2m1r9pkF45aPi47zXTnPh1uL0Ho0iS7x0rpumHlGYbbzUVo60kkjsnmPypF1idrYLzMWQ9duacBc/s1600/IMG_0257.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN__J7IzRNMEuhJ1qNR9s_7VzpDJZIE1NfkhClxSCHbx9CpO4LxMZBVeqxmLJYTSHL2m1r9pkF45aPi47zXTnPh1uL0Ho0iS7x0rpumHlGYbbzUVo60kkjsnmPypF1idrYLzMWQ9duacBc/s320/IMG_0257.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcWD02VReUvyWNIkUJFhhzfnwkKxXEmIEbITeM_lUn8_dCmyWP2rKgdwrfrcf05md4u33445g-rvLRCgjnztY87-r3jDI1utIieqgd5ME4zH5fVfD7KnbgmPQ88eWWTFA_GZLuXY3lLVXL/s1600/IMG_0258.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcWD02VReUvyWNIkUJFhhzfnwkKxXEmIEbITeM_lUn8_dCmyWP2rKgdwrfrcf05md4u33445g-rvLRCgjnztY87-r3jDI1utIieqgd5ME4zH5fVfD7KnbgmPQ88eWWTFA_GZLuXY3lLVXL/s400/IMG_0258.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I have a friend who loves butterflies and her birthday is this week. So I decided to play with another image from Butterfly Kisses images sheet. The card front opens to reveal the birthday wish (just pull on the bow and a mini magnet releases to lift the paper). The lovely rose cameo is from the Cameo image sheet from Gecko Galz. I can hardly wait to give it to her!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9Axrxj86h0S2jwrm0lCuDRbFdvXJyuBGEeVIr4C3_LGDwyypxX3-gOGV4Z0kiFARae6iqNvwebpejZANZxe_ViGQhHBbb46cOsnPDYsaoMyu8UTMsNoNpTE2apalOLbZnwP-GKr18JMHH/s1600/IMG_0261.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9Axrxj86h0S2jwrm0lCuDRbFdvXJyuBGEeVIr4C3_LGDwyypxX3-gOGV4Z0kiFARae6iqNvwebpejZANZxe_ViGQhHBbb46cOsnPDYsaoMyu8UTMsNoNpTE2apalOLbZnwP-GKr18JMHH/s400/IMG_0261.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I must have gotten stuck on butterflies this week. The images from butterfly kisses are just so lovely! I finished this quick little card with the leftover images from the image sheets. Quick matting on pale pink, pop dotted on the card base, and add some flowers and done! Perfect to have on hand to add to a quick gift.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
There seem to be so many birthdays and occasions in the spring. I think I will go spend a little more time with these images from <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a>. I can think of so many pretty cards to make to add to my card stash!<br />
<br />
Enjoy your day!Terri Burnettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05154996148528729574noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5808183920042468170.post-10518113955045860352016-04-16T04:13:00.002-07:002016-04-16T04:13:30.722-07:00Easter in a box<br />
At the <a href="http://geckogalzscrapbooking.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a> retreat this past month there was a contest using cigar boxes. You chose your box and a Gecko Galz collage sheet. Then you could make anything you wanted to!!!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I just LOVE the vintage Easter images on the Easter Joy collage sheet so I chose to use that for my box.</div>

Here is my box, transformed into an Easter decor:</div>

I painted the cigar box with distress paints. And hated the color!!!! So, I added weathered wood distress paint on top of the broken china that I alfeady had on it. And fell in love! I used the Tim Holtz Wallflower paper stash for my papers. There are so many cute images on the collage sheet from Gecko Galz that I just had to use them. I fussy cut some for the inside and others were matted for the covers. The inside pieces are made to stand up by adding some some pieces of acrylic behind them for support. The tree is a Tim Holtz bottle brush tree colored with Bundled Sage distress spray and then Frayed Burlap to darken it. I used several things from my stash of goodies: a Graphic 45 door handle and base, a vintage silver plate egg cup, glitter wood eggs, paper rosebuds, vintage ribbons, and cheesecloth.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Inspired? Grab a collage sheet and have some fun!</div>

Today I thought I would share the mixed media cans we made at the <a href="http://geckogalzscrapbooking.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a> retreat this past month. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1pAHP2IbHiVHlSGQbgR7-VijFOp6fRCSaptfIQ4QWAwoUCpXi4pGJ6iLhJq3M1SV6S2j16FUkITf7P43ftoKAzGMpNJ-6LDiZWs3NLp0yb1N3IJYxycetOBW_2Dk6B0OV9_zngVOx6yaV/s1600/IMG_0118.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1pAHP2IbHiVHlSGQbgR7-VijFOp6fRCSaptfIQ4QWAwoUCpXi4pGJ6iLhJq3M1SV6S2j16FUkITf7P43ftoKAzGMpNJ-6LDiZWs3NLp0yb1N3IJYxycetOBW_2Dk6B0OV9_zngVOx6yaV/s320/IMG_0118.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I chose to make my "canvas" on some chipboard that I already had. It is a bit odd sized at 12 x 9 but it will fit an old frame that I have here. Obviously you could use a pre-made canvas for yours. I began with a coat of gesso on the board. Once it was dry I added a piece of Tim Holtz tissue paper - melange- using matte medium to adhere it. Why gesso and matte medium? Well, since my chipboard was a brown color I wanted to make sure I had some light behind the tissue. Gesso is quick and easy so I chose to use it. The matte medium can be replaced with Mod Podge is you wish. I have adhered the tissue to the front and wrapped it to the back of the board. A final coat of matte medium will seal it. Let this dry completely before moving on.<br />
<br />
Once it is dry add distress ink with an applicator (I used vintage photo but any brown will work) to the entire front. The edges were inked more heavily than the rest. I will add here that there were many at the retreat that used colors - blues, yellows, pinks, greens - and they were stunning!<br />
<br />
At this point it is about assembling all the pieces. I printed a the Fly Free collage sheet on white heavy weight card stock. Each image was cut out and those I chose to use were then matted on a dark brown heavy weight card stock. There are more images on the sheet than what I chose to use. <br />
<br />
Paint your wood pieces (the swirls) with acrylic paint. I used alcohol ink on my metal pieces to make them match my color scheme. Here are the detailed pics of the other objects on the canvas:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh24CiuxoF9FPxR2Oiq816XA6s3j1BvW037Kv2V0w62BbgPMGdR1yFmfleIPAUj8AkljAPdQT28Cu8uZhRE60UUOud9B2nWI4Gzues4cghboqhr-Vycto_3YK4sZbGAB4cRA3lm0cqkeXu9/s1600/IMG_0197.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh24CiuxoF9FPxR2Oiq816XA6s3j1BvW037Kv2V0w62BbgPMGdR1yFmfleIPAUj8AkljAPdQT28Cu8uZhRE60UUOud9B2nWI4Gzues4cghboqhr-Vycto_3YK4sZbGAB4cRA3lm0cqkeXu9/s320/IMG_0197.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is at the top right. I had to substitute some items from the original since they were no longer available for purchase. I tried to keep everything as close to the original as possible. The butterfly is chipboard so it should be painted. I used distress paints in peeled paint, broken china, and frayed burlap.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj51PBk_q1l5ARMkzfGTERCl2uft7nhHLT_OTn8Aus9v2ZfURPVOhb-rJJLYzTHw01XIjXkSM2CqHHXA2W-O3BTODbj7aRobeflw7MsFNFtBdR1OlE4Wo84S6PlS30qioQ3IrbbEaa3q49s/s1600/IMG_0198.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj51PBk_q1l5ARMkzfGTERCl2uft7nhHLT_OTn8Aus9v2ZfURPVOhb-rJJLYzTHw01XIjXkSM2CqHHXA2W-O3BTODbj7aRobeflw7MsFNFtBdR1OlE4Wo84S6PlS30qioQ3IrbbEaa3q49s/s320/IMG_0198.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
These mini frames are from my stash....I simply punched a hole in the center and added the door knob. This element is at the lower edge.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV-RtNCT8pPLb0qMft8zqNkPQSAcSJySHolXIrg9W1eSXGJxVfYZeEjO0cpV_Y3ENyW5IY095C7ABTd4bVLHw4lsc-vWuzq4sy8TT1BgT4UXOUR-QECBHNk1akyD7oIhqQwzBGRm0DFuza/s1600/IMG_0199.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV-RtNCT8pPLb0qMft8zqNkPQSAcSJySHolXIrg9W1eSXGJxVfYZeEjO0cpV_Y3ENyW5IY095C7ABTd4bVLHw4lsc-vWuzq4sy8TT1BgT4UXOUR-QECBHNk1akyD7oIhqQwzBGRm0DFuza/s320/IMG_0199.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
These little pieces were so hard to find!!! I had to change the Maya Road circles that have the hearts on my original to these. These are from the jewelry section at Michaels. You can alcohol ink them if you want. The "time" is a Tim Holtz letter bar that is discontinued.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh932lUt5TGiJek8jxTcItnDZ21U-0h_NULb-qmYgSp5kTOtg_tjNAs-s6aSY2PronXoUn9Iyb0U0YscMp3mfe_IgQzlIk_raoeikQVxpLb_nCFiQ-Sl_VdEImsQZbDmSxGhJ7l8nraYJMl/s1600/IMG_0200.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh932lUt5TGiJek8jxTcItnDZ21U-0h_NULb-qmYgSp5kTOtg_tjNAs-s6aSY2PronXoUn9Iyb0U0YscMp3mfe_IgQzlIk_raoeikQVxpLb_nCFiQ-Sl_VdEImsQZbDmSxGhJ7l8nraYJMl/s320/IMG_0200.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Ah. The mini burlap frame. When I made my original I found 3 x 3 burlap canvases. And now I can't! So, I made my own. I cut 3 x 3 chipboard pieces and was originally going to wrap burlap around them. However, I could only find the wider woven burlap and it did not look right on the chipboard. So I had some burlap banners in my cabinet that were paper backed. Perfect. I simply cut them to the correct size and glued them to the front of the chipboard!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL30vJjsWCLCDUpiJqF7hl8NyRVU9XE6639tUBHXme0KgEXHLnlaoA8vkqPmNfqhwMElMBcQo5oE6xgn8kNWYcm8To1Xg9yhF8a5k4mWlZGDSnJ5gy2DpR0w1yCLfCiHZmv11TZC7QzLJF/s1600/IMG_0201.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL30vJjsWCLCDUpiJqF7hl8NyRVU9XE6639tUBHXme0KgEXHLnlaoA8vkqPmNfqhwMElMBcQo5oE6xgn8kNWYcm8To1Xg9yhF8a5k4mWlZGDSnJ5gy2DpR0w1yCLfCiHZmv11TZC7QzLJF/s320/IMG_0201.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Chipboard letters.....I chose to use the word "fly". You can use whatever works for you. Since they are chipboard, I painted them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAe-CK1HZzH7uNJ-o0-AtoQ_oRpSwNyjrWkx8bvcnd05kBladoVhPNcOe3Po6qFZc-JROr6C6f6t1VZEF6Yxlpal0O7gYkXfHQ04faKWTIc1_WFGcsywN7lUzOncvVgWtebyRMAJsPt8Ju/s1600/IMG_0202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAe-CK1HZzH7uNJ-o0-AtoQ_oRpSwNyjrWkx8bvcnd05kBladoVhPNcOe3Po6qFZc-JROr6C6f6t1VZEF6Yxlpal0O7gYkXfHQ04faKWTIc1_WFGcsywN7lUzOncvVgWtebyRMAJsPt8Ju/s320/IMG_0202.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The original had a cute metal butterfly from Maya Road. I simply could not find them in time for the weekend. So, I punched these using a Martha Stewart punch. Distress ink the edges and add stickles. Butterfly is only adhered on the body so that it looks as if it is flying.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWqYdIynPdkdWZSFi80pyFFI9sYxuO3_Jhfd_qwvCF8okIL9uDNu3EAtZoOOka_GrH4sxKpvNVWPeBeKjeuxmFFxcIzq2JNehlWHz70FM7lVbyzfVk6juuCAq3uKKLmeaf_3xNE_-3n0za/s1600/IMG_0203.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWqYdIynPdkdWZSFi80pyFFI9sYxuO3_Jhfd_qwvCF8okIL9uDNu3EAtZoOOka_GrH4sxKpvNVWPeBeKjeuxmFFxcIzq2JNehlWHz70FM7lVbyzfVk6juuCAq3uKKLmeaf_3xNE_-3n0za/s320/IMG_0203.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Wooden swirls from Simple Stories. They have some super cute ones. I have also used chipboard ones from Dusty Attic. Just a flowing swirl....painted of course.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7a1Wc4_oy-Akn4StbPenI4Nbb2gMRI4cHGNzLE-2eEdunvFfXi12qNa4pctp6JdYYxNGHd8Jmo7YoJUKKgaI3BAecOFNKiLpygWA9vWJsPJ9RthsWarLupFwmm5oK6JVxU4y-e97wP1uk/s1600/IMG_0204.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7a1Wc4_oy-Akn4StbPenI4Nbb2gMRI4cHGNzLE-2eEdunvFfXi12qNa4pctp6JdYYxNGHd8Jmo7YoJUKKgaI3BAecOFNKiLpygWA9vWJsPJ9RthsWarLupFwmm5oK6JVxU4y-e97wP1uk/s320/IMG_0204.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The one image in the upper left is "hung" on small clips. These clips can be purchased at Michaels or you may even be able to find the Canvas Corp ones I used. You will need to bend the top of the hangar part so that it will lay flat on the canvas. The screw head you see is actually a brad.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Once you have all of your elements, lay them out on the canvas before you adhere anything. Many of the ladies at the retreat added other elements from their own stash. I hope you enjoy making this.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Take a visit to <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a> Etsy store. There are so many cute collage sheets that you could do this with. I think I may need to do a vintage Easter one!</div>

I can't believe that January is already gone! In 2 weeks I will celebrate 2 of my kids birthdays. Wow. Guess I better get back in the groove of things!<br />
<br />
I want to share my February projects with you....Gecko Galz has some of the most adorable images this month.<br />
<br />
First up is this vintage inspired tag. A while back I found this wonderful dictionary paper so I decided to use "love" on a tag. The images are from Valentine Wishes collage set, Noteworthy collage set, and the February paper pack. After printing, I fussy cut and combined them to make the tag. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Just love the stamps....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinM9FiIq_4CPKl8b1zJRa8B5VzdZl2akZXlyyzfyzPrwC14uj759DsyWzdtRLW6Do9omAG4NOUjblazzAOpQq0mBECGeZwTSwwy8WQJtpWK2bkbDVJr4YO1qzbhqg-J3W_nkv41APgdHOg/s1600/DSC_0046.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="290" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinM9FiIq_4CPKl8b1zJRa8B5VzdZl2akZXlyyzfyzPrwC14uj759DsyWzdtRLW6Do9omAG4NOUjblazzAOpQq0mBECGeZwTSwwy8WQJtpWK2bkbDVJr4YO1qzbhqg-J3W_nkv41APgdHOg/s320/DSC_0046.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Added some mini pearls and stickle to the frame....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I have finally stopped writing 2015 on everything! Every January I have this desire to get organized (like everyone else I know)! I have this "passion" for planners, calendars, notes. I guess you can call me a planner nerd! I love all things organized!<br />
<br />
I decided that I needed a hanging calendar in my craft room to help organize just my design team things and classes. I could have purchased one. But nope. Not me. I had to make it!<br />
<br />
So. Each month I will post my calendar page for that month. It will encompass images that I love and want to look at. <br />
<br />
Ready for January?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE8xDxdaCBCa0kM9f1zyXEDYsxpQUW9Q3KFHry9GreV8K2EnKtDWg-X4EIRZ0ybAUYNDjnksHgRsEUeuj-e39dphfiaDI9CKRe427GwFhwumqWCp8SKVEURAhvpymjqRkoAVbGJTzO0piJ/s1600/IMG_0057.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE8xDxdaCBCa0kM9f1zyXEDYsxpQUW9Q3KFHry9GreV8K2EnKtDWg-X4EIRZ0ybAUYNDjnksHgRsEUeuj-e39dphfiaDI9CKRe427GwFhwumqWCp8SKVEURAhvpymjqRkoAVbGJTzO0piJ/s400/IMG_0057.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I am using an old blank calendar from Archiver's. (Another resolution of mine....try to use what is in my stash!) I added the month's in Vinyl (because I had it). I still need to add the dates in each square. The base of January is made with a digital paper from Gecko Galz. It was part of the release for last January. I believe it was from the Robyn G papers for the month of December 2014.<br />
<br />

<br />
I chose 2 of my favorite images ever. I just love the red birds in this image. Something very serene to me with the snow, and the birds, and the the depth of the picture.<br />

<br />
The second image, the ice skates, just brings a good memory to mind. I added snowflakes all around the picture because I just adore these Elizabeth Craft Design snowflakes. It is a die set (all 3 snowflakes) and they cut perfectly. I added clear Wink of Stella to them and the pearls to the center for some depth.<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek today. Remember, I will add each month to the blog. Have a wonderful winter day!Terri Burnettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05154996148528729574noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5808183920042468170.post-69122194705952346202016-01-15T03:15:00.000-08:002016-01-15T03:15:11.047-08:00All that glitters.....and a free stamp!This month's challenge for Gecko Galz is All That Glitters. <br />
I love mixing images. The base of the tag is from the digital paper set called High Society. I printed it on a large scale to create a background. Once it is adhered to a manilla tag base, I painted it with gesso. Not too thick, but just enough to really mute the colors. Once it was dry I added gold glitter paste thru a french text stencil to give more dimension. Next I matted my main image, from holiday icons collage set, onto navy card stock and trimmed it with a small gold lace from my stash. A while back I purchased these cute stencils that are all words so I decided to use "faith" with gold glitter paste from Bo Bunny. It is on navy card stock again and matted on a lighter blue card stock. Add flowers and leaves and a nice bow at the top and I'm done.<br />
<br />
I love this paper set and collage sheet. Visit <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a> to see these and so much more. Want to come play with us? There is a spot or two left for our annual retreat! We have so much fun on these weekends in the Hill Country of Texas. Visit the <a href="http://geckogalzscrapbooking.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Gecko Galz blog</a> for details. It is in a few weeks so march on over today. I am one of the featured teachers this year too! I have a great mixed media project for us that I hope everyone loves.<br />
<br />
And just for visiting me today.....<br />

A quick little post to share another Christmas tag with you. Might have been a mix up, but I posted a different tag than the one Gecko Galz did for me that day. Here is the one they had...</div>

<br />
I have a "thing" for Bingo cards and just LOVE the Santa bingo card from Gecko Galz. I have used it many times. The tag is really very simple....Start with a manilla tag and paint it with Iced Spruce distress paint. Give it a spritz of water to distress it a bit. When it is dry lightly distress ink your edges with Frayed Burlap (all of the images too). I have a punch for the greenery - you will need some of the small branch and some of the holly too. The bingo card can be found <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/111554584/alter-it-digital-collage-sheets?ref=shop_home_active_2&ga_search_query=bingo" target="_blank">here</a>. I then added the cute little reindeer (found <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/209444212/reindeer-games-digital-collage-sheet?ref=shop_home_active_1&ga_search_query=reindeer" target="_blank">here</a>) that was fussy cut by pop dotting it on top of all of the greenery. Add a big red bow and you are good to go!<br />
<br />
So quick and easy you could make them for all of your packages!<br />

Hope you are having a blessed Christmas season. Terri Burnettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05154996148528729574noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5808183920042468170.post-82277446225559706342015-12-04T20:31:00.000-08:002015-12-04T20:31:04.071-08:00A quick little tagWelcome to Gecko Galz tags of December! I am especially fond of making tags. I think of them as mini pieces of art! I have a tag wall in my craft room that is just for my enjoyment!<br />
<br />
So, here is one of many tags I will share with you this month:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtBykqwnU2NhwtbDbITlunMKURxXfb2LO82_s7-JGHdVBxJm1KIw0S4A4Wmq0p86W4zXGFheAZguGz1dHZ5NHDaWpm5DsL_XXjuC3RkXsFm-ddozj-CXPyYhMeToY7T3smV3rhh2yzfPJm/s1600/FullSizeRender-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtBykqwnU2NhwtbDbITlunMKURxXfb2LO82_s7-JGHdVBxJm1KIw0S4A4Wmq0p86W4zXGFheAZguGz1dHZ5NHDaWpm5DsL_XXjuC3RkXsFm-ddozj-CXPyYhMeToY7T3smV3rhh2yzfPJm/s400/FullSizeRender-4.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I made this tag using the czarina papers and the baroquen dreams stamps. First I die cut a manilla tag then covered it with one of the gorgeous paper from the czarina paper collection. I can see I will be using those papers often! Once I had the butterfly stamp printed I covered it heavily with glossy accents and left it to dry overnight. The next morning I "cracked" the butterfly by carefully bending it. I then inked it. This creates a really cool antiqued look. I matted it on a yellow ochre card stock and fussy cut. Some velveteen leaves from Petaloo and some fall flowers along with the "so thankful" tag complete the tag.<br />
<br />
Hope you enjoyed this quick tag. Visit <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a> to see these images and so many more!<br />

I am one of "those" who does not like to have Christmas things up before Thanksgiving. Are you? I read something on Facebook last week that said something about enjoying my holidays one at a time. That's me! So now that Thanksgiving is over, I am ready for Christmas!<br />
<br />
Our local radio station plays Christmas songs for the whole month. I love that. However, this morning I had just a limited amount of time in the car and this was the song I heard. Now it is playing over and over in my head! <br />
<br />
I thought I would share a few things from Gecko Galz with you very quickly. These are 2 of the projects I made with the December release. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMNnxlNOwOdKOInnBmPSSKLKX5o7gR4aXuu__FfvRFz_uXyqmxfadPezlm-ac5_Ieg8esu7kq0xGptBuCCmz-FfyK89cfhJj4QleadqGU7hkpxu_VmkzS5q3SRQWhJOkMLgnVtQ_1N-Zti/s1600/FullSizeRender-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMNnxlNOwOdKOInnBmPSSKLKX5o7gR4aXuu__FfvRFz_uXyqmxfadPezlm-ac5_Ieg8esu7kq0xGptBuCCmz-FfyK89cfhJj4QleadqGU7hkpxu_VmkzS5q3SRQWhJOkMLgnVtQ_1N-Zti/s320/FullSizeRender-1.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I fell in love with this lantern image this month. I have made several tags and cards with it but this one is by far my favorite. The image is pop dotted onto a kraft tag that I splattered with white paint. I punched the greenery from different scraps of green card stock I had laying around, tipped them in white to look snowy, and then stacked then under the lantern. The original image had the greenery but I wanted a 3D affect. I made the tiny pinecones as well. It is hard to see since I did not get the best picture, but the lantern light is glittery as well (thanks to some Faber Castell glass bead glitter gel). This may end up being a version of my actual Christmas cards that I send to family!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrL028pl0KRB5A1LFGE6ogN5cNsHn2NgDRf88hkdCTX-K-Bsocwszc2BZQWF46gzQ4X1MD6_fzuB7vyNNmflOq2hyphenhyphenSYj0XXELnr7HnLi0oAucw6k-1FNkJgq-5GuGSY2ahIq4k8mB1Mcht/s1600/FullSizeRender-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrL028pl0KRB5A1LFGE6ogN5cNsHn2NgDRf88hkdCTX-K-Bsocwszc2BZQWF46gzQ4X1MD6_fzuB7vyNNmflOq2hyphenhyphenSYj0XXELnr7HnLi0oAucw6k-1FNkJgq-5GuGSY2ahIq4k8mB1Mcht/s320/FullSizeRender-2.jpg" width="271" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Some of the images were called Blue Christmas and as you can guess they were all blue. I love the santa image and decided to fussy cut the snowflake out. It has glass bead glitter gel on the outer edges. I used the papers, the christmas list image and then the santa to make this quick card to put in some baskets I made. It is perfect with the silver ribbon I tied the baskets with. Can't show you the finished basket or the recipients would know who it came from (it's a surprise).</div>

What a great Gecko Galz Blog Hop! I know I had a great time hopping from blog to blog to see the incredible pieces and to grab my freebies! Did you? A huge thank you to those who hopped along and left comments. It's nice to hear from blog peeps that enjoy my creations.<br />
<br />
It has been a busy week. (as usual!) I only taught "2" classes but I was at the store every day , or so it felt! My home schedule has changed significantly this year and has forced me to re-think how I have my classes at Scrapp n' Savvy. Usually I hold a morning and an evening class on the same day for a project. But I have had to change that up depending on the day. So last week I taught a night class on one day and then a day class the very next day for the same project. Felt weird. But all was good. <br />
<br />
I thought I would share these projects with you here:<br />
<br />
First is a class project from Bo Bunny. This is a kit available to retailers and I thought it would be fun and easy. There were some significant issues with the kit (papers that I felt did not match the kit, poor instructions, design challenges). I ended up "re-making" the album to suit my standards! It really is adorable. The satchel opens to reveal a mini album.<br />

<br />
This is the cover of the mini album. The papers are part of the Enchanted Harvest collection. The kit included brads and a pre-made mini album from previous collections.<br />

A little Halloween album. This was fun to make and included all the new Tim Holtz Halloween goodies.<br />

<br />
A second fall 3d layout. This one is so cute....I have a great pumpkin pic to put here.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS7Wkl9FmAoG91gwmoa4cJHBeNi-nlXaGxwV3yz4JWEJymKVw9Pmq3ng63gmIQ6bT7B_TO2CxQYa2Jke-Drko6cIyxVSi2LSgJFOyu_OfXGlembnYl_p7XKXpYm1VcCEJmS-TNRhJ0OlF7/s1600/DSC_0075.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="293" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS7Wkl9FmAoG91gwmoa4cJHBeNi-nlXaGxwV3yz4JWEJymKVw9Pmq3ng63gmIQ6bT7B_TO2CxQYa2Jke-Drko6cIyxVSi2LSgJFOyu_OfXGlembnYl_p7XKXpYm1VcCEJmS-TNRhJ0OlF7/s320/DSC_0075.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And lastly, I have had a large demand for pet mini albums. I love Authentique papers and this fall they released an adorable cat/dog collection. So, I made one of each for a class. The papers are so cute and have wonderful prints!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I am playing around in the craft room this weekend. I have a layout I am making for a gift (aaaghh-just realized I have to get this done!). And there is some fun Christmas stuff happening too! Will share when I'm done.<br />
<br />

Next, a few Christmas ornaments. This is one of my favorite Sizzix dies from ages ago. Each ornament was cut from chipboard then painted with a sparkly acrylic paint. I added the images between acrylic pieces and added them to the ornaments. Large bows and a bit of glitter complete them.<br />

A mini journal. After playing with Altoid tins at the Gecko Galz retreat, I had some ideas rolling around. I decided to make this mini journal using one of the tins and love how it turned out. The tin was alcohol inked with greens and blues to match the images. I also used some Tim Holtz rub-ons and some other Gecko Galz papers and tags.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #3a3a3a; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;">Halloween is on its way. I think the lines above are from a Harry Potter movie but I can say that I have heard different versions of this my entire life. I do really enjoy Halloween. I don't mean the evil, scary Halloween. I mean the fun, cute costume, cool decorations type of Halloween. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #3a3a3a; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #3a3a3a; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;">Each year when my children were smaller I made their costumes. Thoroughly enjoyed doing it too! Princesses, pumpkins, Buzz Lightyear, Simba, more princesses, various saints, Woody, anything Star Wars, ........... And of course the costumes were passed down to the younger ones. I remember the year of the capes - there was a huge argument over who got to wear the brown Star Wars cape I made. Well, everyone got one that year. Each one of them had a costume with a cape! And I love that we still have those capes and the kids (even the adult ones) still wear them! We had not 1 , but 2 costume bins in our house. I guess with 5 children there was a need for a lot of costumes! Just recently we purged the costume boxes. Very sad to see some of those leave my house. I kept a few just because I couldn't let them go (like the Simba head that I hand made! and the St Nicholas costume. Oh, and the St Michael costume). I do wish I had taken a picture of each and every one of them. I guess I do have them in a way - I am sure I have a picture of the children wearing them and that is better.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #3a3a3a; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #3a3a3a; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;">Each year I make a Halloween mini album. Of course when all of the kids were home I had lots of pictures. Not so much this year. But I made the album anyway :)</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #3a3a3a; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #3a3a3a; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;">I chose to use the new Tim Holtz Regions Beyond paper stash and all the goodies that go with it. I love the papers but as I made the album I felt it needed "more". So I added some Gecko Galz images to it. Perfect. The vintage nature of the paper and the vintage images I chose perfectly complimented each other. I used Gecko Galz Wicked Words 1 and 2 and Halloween Kids 1 and 2. Visit <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a> to see these sheets and so much more (the papers for October are fabulous!)</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #3a3a3a; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #3a3a3a; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;">So, I thought I would show you some of the pages:<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiLbOZGmoWiN5M80Vh1Q4z-tM1dXRyirCIUCfaUsaRFjBGfjWbmY0OqovUPTFzv3k4Y2wfpoIPYasF1z2l2oO0bkQxaB4OFbNBGOnqbS-VJwF4s0rjzmOwoG780l6c-sn55eQjJmy1xPez/s1600/DSC_0078.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiLbOZGmoWiN5M80Vh1Q4z-tM1dXRyirCIUCfaUsaRFjBGfjWbmY0OqovUPTFzv3k4Y2wfpoIPYasF1z2l2oO0bkQxaB4OFbNBGOnqbS-VJwF4s0rjzmOwoG780l6c-sn55eQjJmy1xPez/s400/DSC_0078.jpg" width="211" /></a></div>
This is the spine of the mini.....I used canvas that I painted with Spiced Marmalade distress paint and then distressed it further with Black Soot distress ink. The Tim Holtz Halloween line also has these cool plastic words (Alpha Words) - the 31 and the spider were part of those. I also added some of the charms from the collection and a mini wishbone from earlier releases. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcr5nqJCMOMVzubXQ11Xvx-4g1aknriUCIG_29C30N_0Z2Btbvr1rDxOs2ajcadqZrBY89lmw13FM233T509XTU8z29o0Xi_xb6WLPWHp2uR8yuRDcMhR3e8t7GUdHcyLM5nld9fzH-HMJ/s1600/DSC_0079.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcr5nqJCMOMVzubXQ11Xvx-4g1aknriUCIG_29C30N_0Z2Btbvr1rDxOs2ajcadqZrBY89lmw13FM233T509XTU8z29o0Xi_xb6WLPWHp2uR8yuRDcMhR3e8t7GUdHcyLM5nld9fzH-HMJ/s400/DSC_0079.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Inside cover. You can see I have used Gecko Galz images here. Just a mixture of the papers and GG images. I also pulled out all of my Halloween die cuts to use (the 31 on this page). Each of the mini album pages have pockets flip out pages, and extra large side pockets. Loads of room.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgujE1-wrUj0OFhsc3J9QD8ns2-PuClGrI5nHoRxWw78M_flczW4vh7nDdAwmwlY-uAw9fXJwfcpZz56mR0as-VyNdBggjJN5K_QBWZsR_8xblNCy_L2dVTiETOo3_FfziFC3Z4TGp72FAj/s1600/DSC_0082.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgujE1-wrUj0OFhsc3J9QD8ns2-PuClGrI5nHoRxWw78M_flczW4vh7nDdAwmwlY-uAw9fXJwfcpZz56mR0as-VyNdBggjJN5K_QBWZsR_8xblNCy_L2dVTiETOo3_FfziFC3Z4TGp72FAj/s400/DSC_0082.jpg" width="351" /></a></div>
I love this page. It is a simple flip top. You can also see that one of the tags for the side pocket hangs over onto the page. I love this page because of the "boo". It is an older die but still available from Sizzix. It is rather fragile when cut so I cut it from chipboard, painted it with black soot distress paint and then topped it with glossy accents. I was in a hurry when I added the glossy accents so not all of it got covered. I think the spotty texture adds to the effects of it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmvSLj3MQVOSFO2zBhT8BAuhMhwI6O-i_GIa3nAZwDrr9pIlc74Z1s37ivQOfdW0k9ZkZWDFe2vT7EtuLqNgqKwc6Gxf5PnhVoVaB6YbLx-_24ZUZXHVddnS_-_DhysZCwsw4QmNV17HT1/s1600/DSC_0085.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmvSLj3MQVOSFO2zBhT8BAuhMhwI6O-i_GIa3nAZwDrr9pIlc74Z1s37ivQOfdW0k9ZkZWDFe2vT7EtuLqNgqKwc6Gxf5PnhVoVaB6YbLx-_24ZUZXHVddnS_-_DhysZCwsw4QmNV17HT1/s400/DSC_0085.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
These are 2 of the tags from the album. Again I used the Alpha Words to add to the tags. I also made many of the tags "cards". I think it adds some interest when they hang out of a pocket and then you can pull them out all together. GG images....perfect addition.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Another fav page....it has a mini gatefold. Like Christmas.....you just keep opening it! You can see more of the GG images here as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUi9ZwD6OpS32KN77jYQQQAlY5JE-URlLfLCunAtsi2rByOxFN-Yftkl_RiRbS4qI7mKq31EDFoJZxujDO8acEGw7GVAymyVrwCS0o5VTIHu1RhJC7zOnNaxf4Q-Sah0pBBpLZtUy8M7uu/s1600/DSC_0100.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUi9ZwD6OpS32KN77jYQQQAlY5JE-URlLfLCunAtsi2rByOxFN-Yftkl_RiRbS4qI7mKq31EDFoJZxujDO8acEGw7GVAymyVrwCS0o5VTIHu1RhJC7zOnNaxf4Q-Sah0pBBpLZtUy8M7uu/s400/DSC_0100.jpg" width="390" /></a></div>
A few more tags.....another card fold tag. Don't you just love those chalkboard images?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdgut5yaMRmtn4PK7aKZ1rNb1gVl8Ezo6j7eZq_bRWlw6YvujyYcIm44Al5D64Jqf1TdIHB9R1kY5EDxt0vDlFbdwHxCP_19C8gDiRVePLoYyyi93eEYszUzNsgwz8J9qBOQCBpVwfokvc/s1600/DSC_0105.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdgut5yaMRmtn4PK7aKZ1rNb1gVl8Ezo6j7eZq_bRWlw6YvujyYcIm44Al5D64Jqf1TdIHB9R1kY5EDxt0vDlFbdwHxCP_19C8gDiRVePLoYyyi93eEYszUzNsgwz8J9qBOQCBpVwfokvc/s400/DSC_0105.jpg" width="233" /></a></div>
And this. The coffin tag. I have made coffin tags before but this one is larger, almost 6 inches, and has a bit more detail. I used the Washi tape, the brads and an image from the paper stash for the front. I like using Washi tape but sometimes find that it wants to peel off. Frustrating. So I usually add a light coat of Ranger Matte Medium over it (dries super fast) or depending on where it will be I may add some adhesive underneath it. I used Washi around the edges on the tag and then coated the front with the matte medium when I was done adding my image. It dries clear and matte so you don't even notice it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyslaLHP2NOmqgIIlwY7HN1TpbNJmJNcfUUPLeiw83z4kvqR-2SoNiWnKzWm23WVuaCiScqWy_pvEz9TJ3EuHU12-Zy37saZPtaMpRm-VO4_0v6JZ6kGUguLZCjuw0dtwTDSYqjJ1JfmUF/s1600/DSC_0106.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyslaLHP2NOmqgIIlwY7HN1TpbNJmJNcfUUPLeiw83z4kvqR-2SoNiWnKzWm23WVuaCiScqWy_pvEz9TJ3EuHU12-Zy37saZPtaMpRm-VO4_0v6JZ6kGUguLZCjuw0dtwTDSYqjJ1JfmUF/s400/DSC_0106.jpg" width="355" /></a></div>
Inside of the coffin tag....another GG image (to cover the back of the brad at the top). I also added a tiny pocket on the right bottom.....perfect to hold a tiny tag with a GG image on it!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBGQl9znuPsT_tTv1U7bNmZmgNv27YdmfcHXmjLMHjfYGpRE06DdGL5ACo-aZk7Z__mYsKhWVdMJMci8KiWcYhO_pBkDxi6vpV-T0ni5d-ymgP_3JRuJSqo3G6RUPOm1bYAWRvjIiPvuwP/s1600/DSC_0102.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBGQl9znuPsT_tTv1U7bNmZmgNv27YdmfcHXmjLMHjfYGpRE06DdGL5ACo-aZk7Z__mYsKhWVdMJMci8KiWcYhO_pBkDxi6vpV-T0ni5d-ymgP_3JRuJSqo3G6RUPOm1bYAWRvjIiPvuwP/s400/DSC_0102.jpg" width="396" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And the back. What a perfect way to end the mini than with a GG chalkboard tag. Again, I used the matte medium to attach the tag. It seals it down so that it will not lift off. You can also see the black lace I added to the covers. It is some of my vintage stash. I found a huge roll of it years ago for $10! Score! It is not all that old, from the 50's. But I love using it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, I hope you enjoyed a little wickedness! Stop by again....I can hardly wait to share my projects for the GG Blog Hop (last week of October). I had soo much fun making them! And there will be some freebies too! Enjoy your day.</div>

Today is Gecko Galz day for me! I have had the best time playing with the October images from GG. Just in case you don't know, each month Gecko Galz has new images and a kit club that has papers, stamps, and other images. This month they are fall type images and boy are they lovely! Visit <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a> to see all of the amazing images.<br />
<br />
No further ado....<br />
<br />
I will apologize for the pics....the sun was bright and shining today! And unusually fall-like!<br />
<br />
For this card I used the fall papers and one of the dominoe images from this month. The image is just stunning. I could just dream about being at that exact spot! I paired the paper and the image with some die cut leaves and fun textile yarns from my stash.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_PuqZLBx2Yx2K1wdFVJJPSmfG-eUCPLuunHi1mmRTXF2iqpcFU2ya9dL9ZfYTh_ajefyYpCyMt2UuyxpivK2uCHWSNfVfafoTNawM8F2g9SHNKOb7O1WtgzQdafC1hErZ75sct1xG7m6z/s1600/FullSizeRender-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_PuqZLBx2Yx2K1wdFVJJPSmfG-eUCPLuunHi1mmRTXF2iqpcFU2ya9dL9ZfYTh_ajefyYpCyMt2UuyxpivK2uCHWSNfVfafoTNawM8F2g9SHNKOb7O1WtgzQdafC1hErZ75sct1xG7m6z/s320/FullSizeRender-1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
A little birdie told me......I love birds. Don't know why. Maybe because they are amazing! Anyway, there are some of the most adorable bird images this month. The card pictured below is made with one of the October papers and the precious bird image. I have layered the paper, corrugated board, ribbon, moss and some bling to create this card. I really love how it turned out and decided to re-create it for my Thanksgiving cards this year. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-PnujETN5AJjIHa7-m1BDPfTxFOVMp1LoMC7f1Q7qz71fRqLoaZ3iNcOTRcJAcv2aCScMsKrCGrOYBxIqPaw_PuqblpzBW5MEHQjxOGaVA4U2OyxvX8XElKMLJO1FSIwgW1ddPp51YgB_/s1600/FullSizeRender-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-PnujETN5AJjIHa7-m1BDPfTxFOVMp1LoMC7f1Q7qz71fRqLoaZ3iNcOTRcJAcv2aCScMsKrCGrOYBxIqPaw_PuqblpzBW5MEHQjxOGaVA4U2OyxvX8XElKMLJO1FSIwgW1ddPp51YgB_/s320/FullSizeRender-2.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
And another little birdie.....again using one of the papers and this simple bird image. This reminds me of the Aspen leaves in Colorado. So serene. I double matted the image on cardstock then on top of some die cut leaves. All of this is placed on top of one of the yummy papers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnYTO3lji8-OU_u8ZVRr0jK-Lj8oEEEHl7EgbmeTiMPbNpU476WvlWv10F9yowJEIfZNFXHX6L9Yr3l4M0vzhUlTyWtUhgQ4ilLhuroPYSqACa_8FhRxxqGYKTGX__sjsm-3nsc7XWE7gE/s1600/FullSizeRender-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnYTO3lji8-OU_u8ZVRr0jK-Lj8oEEEHl7EgbmeTiMPbNpU476WvlWv10F9yowJEIfZNFXHX6L9Yr3l4M0vzhUlTyWtUhgQ4ilLhuroPYSqACa_8FhRxxqGYKTGX__sjsm-3nsc7XWE7gE/s320/FullSizeRender-3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Well, a little birdie will always be around here! I hope you enjoy your fall day!<br />

I thought today I would share just some different things. Usually I am posting my Gecko Galz designs about this time each month but I changed it up a little this time. Go grab a cup of tea and enjoy.<br />
<br />
First up:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjCaL6heuoDnNG0eCUrNxggPVzag6L70buskGSpOBLoZz5WZwhRt2qkDyl0JhycRWjBq0E-SiKq8_PhQRU_-MTNmVhHxWQzhDsMdU-LMbHRoDNWP6nEgTqczuGc5HKqNf44FhT1BCTfrrr/s1600/DSC_0107.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjCaL6heuoDnNG0eCUrNxggPVzag6L70buskGSpOBLoZz5WZwhRt2qkDyl0JhycRWjBq0E-SiKq8_PhQRU_-MTNmVhHxWQzhDsMdU-LMbHRoDNWP6nEgTqczuGc5HKqNf44FhT1BCTfrrr/s400/DSC_0107.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I wanted to share this because I just LOVE how it turned out. You see, here in Texas we are silly crazy about all things Texas! This was a 3d layout class I had in August. I love how the paper looks like old leather. How the flowers turned out. How the grungepaper looks like real leather. <br />
Just all over goodness.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge-rvHNmsCpXt3VG2F1BLYro8xqeLQBJQlUhH_UQwsrWE2QBhqa0hMRyS3MjxjIEO5ymFbe_mUXXidDejDc-EznEgSSap3NlLiEMppLU5IoErWbeFBvNfxsB0cA45yKKJ_N5eZ2tC0c7Xg/s1600/DSC_0112.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge-rvHNmsCpXt3VG2F1BLYro8xqeLQBJQlUhH_UQwsrWE2QBhqa0hMRyS3MjxjIEO5ymFbe_mUXXidDejDc-EznEgSSap3NlLiEMppLU5IoErWbeFBvNfxsB0cA45yKKJ_N5eZ2tC0c7Xg/s400/DSC_0112.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The flowers were made using Elizabeth Craft Designs dies. I used the Garden Notes Rose 2 and the Bluebonnet dies. I had never made the flowers before. I think they turned out awesome!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDUGE0RsJsnBG5D9Qxaj_HvsioTCJeklAk46wKTO0UTGf9IqRcRNWEZvUyV4d063nQNCe6LOcmioeuqZsGUpT6XWXLKKfPi5kphkNV3X9D4f72QxpAeni-OmCLWgAEIzhg2REG65_-MYei/s1600/DSC_0109.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDUGE0RsJsnBG5D9Qxaj_HvsioTCJeklAk46wKTO0UTGf9IqRcRNWEZvUyV4d063nQNCe6LOcmioeuqZsGUpT6XWXLKKfPi5kphkNV3X9D4f72QxpAeni-OmCLWgAEIzhg2REG65_-MYei/s400/DSC_0109.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The star is made from paper as well. Once I made the 3D star I painted it with silver precious metals. Love that stuff! Then I added it to the red bandana rosette (made from a napkin!). The picture is extra special because I made it for a friend. That is her and her husband. Such lovebirds! And the fenceboards are from Scrapp n' Savvy! Just so many things to love!<br />
<br />
Also this summer I had a class in which we made a mini suitcase. We built the whole thing from scratch and then added a mini album inside! They were so much fun to make and decorate. Just a tidbit to show here:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhviNzLzDTg6Ndk3JtB2IO6_yRK0_0uQVWf9X-iRIoAS9fhKzpSlhEklJoEFE0PlZLRgkOrHOcqOpixiJ55krknJsjSIkMgwp-wQQV7svdpehdXDP_EXltJCzEHZbvEj4sd6rsOa1VTdcTn/s1600/DSC_0068.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="332" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhviNzLzDTg6Ndk3JtB2IO6_yRK0_0uQVWf9X-iRIoAS9fhKzpSlhEklJoEFE0PlZLRgkOrHOcqOpixiJ55krknJsjSIkMgwp-wQQV7svdpehdXDP_EXltJCzEHZbvEj4sd6rsOa1VTdcTn/s400/DSC_0068.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Well, as we say in Texas, I hope y'all have a good one!Terri Burnettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05154996148528729574noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5808183920042468170.post-24784822334835663242015-09-13T18:27:00.001-07:002015-09-13T18:27:18.331-07:00Goblins and Ghosts and Fall Fun Oh what a wonderful time of year. I love the cool evenings and the pretty days. And the colors - oh, just stunning. Even though I live in a part of the country that doesn't really see the bright Autumn colors, I still look forward to it every year.<br />
<br />
This month Gecko Galz has some stunning images to get you in the Autumn spirit. Or maybe just in the spooky spirit!!<br />
<br />
For my first sample I made a tiny lantern to highlight the fun black and white images.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXyoiIdHJZfdkAJOWNgJdU7iZPCE4JfyDyTcScPTihS-uQMVQcB_mN7pzZOQDTDPN_s4AMaJmI62B_J7YjrGWWlHtmn3DQ77uDvhiyPmyfd0a-JeLJQVr5oRaFPMov-oSNgmjYic3pwVVc/s1600/DSC_0029.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXyoiIdHJZfdkAJOWNgJdU7iZPCE4JfyDyTcScPTihS-uQMVQcB_mN7pzZOQDTDPN_s4AMaJmI62B_J7YjrGWWlHtmn3DQ77uDvhiyPmyfd0a-JeLJQVr5oRaFPMov-oSNgmjYic3pwVVc/s320/DSC_0029.jpg" width="214" /></a></div>
<br />
The picture is not the best...but there is a flameless candle in the mini lantern! The images are perfect and "glow" with the candle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcqSE9yCp-CLKiSn_vOKLPxxdns4WM-P7eN9dFGgSoC4EsA7R_FqSW4jiDKhuRrirIhaEvBaJoInsI-UQ5YiVMmsFBuClleXhjk_OTwCxzYrEOY_0Im-QkmFu4wnxQif11qGWhelkIb117/s1600/DSC_0030.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcqSE9yCp-CLKiSn_vOKLPxxdns4WM-P7eN9dFGgSoC4EsA7R_FqSW4jiDKhuRrirIhaEvBaJoInsI-UQ5YiVMmsFBuClleXhjk_OTwCxzYrEOY_0Im-QkmFu4wnxQif11qGWhelkIb117/s320/DSC_0030.jpg" width="214" /></a></div>

<br />
I fell in love with the vintage children images this month too. They are just so cute. To highlight them I decided to make some pumpkins with the images in the centers. I drew a pumpkin shape on chipboard and then made another center area for the pumpkin out of chipboard as well. I painted these with distress paints giving them highlights and shadows. I then added the image to the center panel using matte medium. The center panel was them adhered to the pumpkin and extra shadowing was added. Finished them with bows and wooden leaves. It is a little hard to see but I added a sparkle to the main pumpkin too. They look so cute in my entrance hall! Images are from Halloween is for Kids collage sheet.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This one is made with one of the chalkboard images from Wicked Words collage sheet that is part of the craft kit this month. I think I have made a dozen of these now. Everyone wants one! It is made the same way as the pumpkins above but I stenciled on the base pumpkin with texture paste. The are painted black and then the textured area is rubbed with silver to make it stand out. The center panel has Glass Bead Glitter Gel on it. It is iridescent so it really picks up the silver color. A big bow and dangling leave complete it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHW7Wi4DqtP3Xu_9zhFU388Y3_IkWmWWb_ePkd6zzEoJVS4A-9lQ55HesaMuP4vPRJ08ylvx4-TvrHdmaN5RqxAFm-n_x785TW5wyFxOj5j5RYpMGeJAyIDxO01iO4qLhYYBuTugCBXSmA/s1600/DSC_0038.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHW7Wi4DqtP3Xu_9zhFU388Y3_IkWmWWb_ePkd6zzEoJVS4A-9lQ55HesaMuP4vPRJ08ylvx4-TvrHdmaN5RqxAFm-n_x785TW5wyFxOj5j5RYpMGeJAyIDxO01iO4qLhYYBuTugCBXSmA/s320/DSC_0038.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
These are just a sampling of the images this month. So many to choose from! Stop by <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a> and take a look at the beautiful images. Get your SPOOK on!!!<br />
<br />
Happy Fall Y'all!<br />

(hehe) I am pretty sure you could lock me in my craft room, slide food under the door, and I would be perfectly happy! Yesterday I saw a t-shirt that read "Yes, I do have a retirement plan. I plan to scrapbook." Very fitting...<br />
<br />
Life has gotten in the way of my crafting this month. Maybe it's going back to school for a few. Maybe it is just summer closing down. Maybe it's all that stinkin' housework! Whatever is has been I have been on a roll the last day or so and it feels great!<br />
<br />
Today I want to share with you some fun Gecko Galz projects. These are all made using the August issues that were just so much fun! I just love working with a digital image because I can make it the size I want. I can change the coloring on it. Sometimes I even crop an image out of it. So let's take a look:<br />
<br />
First up is this wonderful balloon image. I just adore the colors and the image itself. Great masculine card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj72g3r2IM3TH2ELB3J48tGSTiLjpe0GzrNIR2s0GIvmX69tbKWBZEgghR9HjlhofrrDCJ81I1PkrVjy6ESwdGCvFmL7iHkHpXitvkjaqd1fWzofxFnwatjl0dtx9-aSYnraHypPsUReZnY/s1600/DSC_0001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj72g3r2IM3TH2ELB3J48tGSTiLjpe0GzrNIR2s0GIvmX69tbKWBZEgghR9HjlhofrrDCJ81I1PkrVjy6ESwdGCvFmL7iHkHpXitvkjaqd1fWzofxFnwatjl0dtx9-aSYnraHypPsUReZnY/s400/DSC_0001.jpg" width="305" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the card I submitted for the Gecko Galz Challenge. This image is one from the Jewel It sheet but it just spoke to me. So, I grabbed it and resized it for a card. The girlfriend I gave it to LOVED it and actually framed it for her desk. Sure made me feel good!<br />
<br />

Another hot air balloon. This one has an "Up" (the children's movie) feel to it since there is a house dangling from it. Just made me happy:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
And my personal fav this month. This is a mixed media tag I created using multiple image. I began by printing the large butterfly piece from a 1 x 1 sheet (again sizing it to my needs). I also printed a smaller butterfly so I could use the wings. I used several of the tags from other sheets and combined it all in the tag. The butterfly wings is a G45 metal butterfly that I folded in half off center to create the landing butterfly. I adhered the cut out mini butterfly (just the wings, and cut apart) onto the outer wing. The round piece at the lower edge is also from the 1 x 1 sheet but circle punched and topped with a flat marble. I just couldn't part with it so it is hanging in the crop room!<br />

<br />
This image is one of the circus stamps. He is just so cute! Printed in black and white on white card stock. I colored the image with water color pencils. Adhered to the black card stock and then onto a white card base. But it just needed something more. So I add the saying and all of the doodles using a white sparkling gel pen.<br />
<br />

<br />
Another card - Just a fun piece that has multiple image from the circus theme. Great birthday card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Last card - I couldn't resist one more mixed media piece but this time using the hot air balloons! So much fun! Lots of goodies on this one. Perfect for a guy's birthday card I think.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the last piece for the month. I absolutely fell in love with the 1 x 1 butterfly images from this month! There were so many beautiful images to choose from. And the colors......oh, perfect! I wanted to make this encased necklace using an image. So easy! But of course I chose the day to play when it was so rainy! It took FOREVER for the enameling to dry! It was so hard to get a good picture of all that is encased within the enamel. There are beads, glitter, the image of course, some micro beads, and much more. I made the small dangles as well. When I'm not wearing it I have it dangling from my light on the nightstand!</div>

So much fun!!! You have to go check out all the images <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">here</a>. And just because you stayed, played, and flipped through all this yummy goodness, here is a FREE stamp image for you:<br />

I hope you enjoy your day. I have grand plans of crafting all day. I hear a Halloween album calling my name! I have decided to be better at adding blog entries for this quarter. I am trying a "schedule". Hopefully I will have more for you more often. <br />
<br />
Happy crafting all!<br />

I had a hard time deciding which ones to use. So, there are quite a few for you to see!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is one of my favorite images! I love the texture it creates and all the levels of images. I decided to make a mixed media canvas to showcase it. I printed my image on cold press watercolor paper and adhered it to a chipboard base using gel medium. Next I created the sand color by mixing chocolate gelato with texture paste. I applied it to the edges with a palette knife. The blue "water" was created the same way using blue gelato and texture paste. Before the paste dried I added some sand, shells, other shell and a crab image from Gecko Galz, and a bit of glitter.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is one of the August stamps. Again I printed it on watercolor paper and colored it with water colors. I love how vibrant the colors are. It is added to a textured card base to finish it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH_Y-QOb7dB_5sieVWC6rKx6jI9jMY337RX2suHnP6HDYmW2fE70hXuWCciORlVuJZeJCLdrm8tQ_wpjMBM3karetPfqseGkqxI1J3dZG0IGmc052f-t3ZqzHiqHMnnXmPCKOjECPCXtBb/s1600/DSC_0078.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH_Y-QOb7dB_5sieVWC6rKx6jI9jMY337RX2suHnP6HDYmW2fE70hXuWCciORlVuJZeJCLdrm8tQ_wpjMBM3karetPfqseGkqxI1J3dZG0IGmc052f-t3ZqzHiqHMnnXmPCKOjECPCXtBb/s320/DSC_0078.jpg" width="315" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
And this....a favorite for sure. I'm not even sure I can give this card away I like it so much! I printed the 1 x 1 images and cut out the ones I liked trying to keep a blue tone among them all. The 3 seahorses image is double matted. The 1x 1's are foam taped on the card around the edges. The seahorses are foam tapped in the center. Love it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This image was just so fun to start with. It is matted on the striped paper from the kit and then onto multiple mats. The card base is stamped with a shell stamp randomly with a deep turquoise ink. Add the matted image and voila!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEGhp_YNtBXEa5cEmXCTP1rzMRTRcuMy_D3T3HOr48DIcQeXChHBamQs5mh3NUbGrVyt-e_ra12XrEw4vCMMsSqBmP-SFp0VkI9kSK6HM6s10ulaU9s-VYFMtXuz8Oc9EmqwTs4JU5tkGE/s1600/DSC_0081.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="263" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEGhp_YNtBXEa5cEmXCTP1rzMRTRcuMy_D3T3HOr48DIcQeXChHBamQs5mh3NUbGrVyt-e_ra12XrEw4vCMMsSqBmP-SFp0VkI9kSK6HM6s10ulaU9s-VYFMtXuz8Oc9EmqwTs4JU5tkGE/s320/DSC_0081.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This picture and the next show 2 mini cards I made. I think these images are so sweet. I actually have already given them to people!!! Each are matted on the kit papers and placed simply on white card bases. Very simple embellishments. Perfect!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There are of course more than seaside and beach images this month. I could not resist this cute and fun "joker" image. The stamp reads: where words fail, music speaks. I have matted the image on some of the kit paper and some other scraps I had. And a bow.....always the perfect compliment.</div>

I wonder if I have served as inspiration, if I made you smile, or did I pass on a technique. Well, I hope that I inspired you in some way! <br />
<br />
A few more inspirations...<br />
<br />
I recently made this mini for a class at <a href="http://www.scrappnsavvy.com/" target="_blank">Scrapp n' Savvy</a>. I thought it was perfect for the few 4th pictures I would be taking or perhaps as a military memory book. Whatever the reason, it was fun to make:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaMoEdg-FHCSFToE3lXEF-Tu1AzsKV087WT7FQ39pTdKnHzz4WQMuQHuTXKZtLkvtDmIvGlLl3G16kEwId5MepPbU7CI20nCYV3OmxouJLBAmVyU98hYU5IQpwB-JgckvfKz0sdcTLl1Ny/s1600/DSC_0075.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaMoEdg-FHCSFToE3lXEF-Tu1AzsKV087WT7FQ39pTdKnHzz4WQMuQHuTXKZtLkvtDmIvGlLl3G16kEwId5MepPbU7CI20nCYV3OmxouJLBAmVyU98hYU5IQpwB-JgckvfKz0sdcTLl1Ny/s320/DSC_0075.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I began with a pre-made mini (which I so rarely do) that was a mixed media book. It contained chipboard, watercolor paper, acrylic, cardboard, and more. I loved working with all the different substrates. Some of the pages were painted. Others were stenciled. I even stitched on one! Full of pockets and tags it will hold more than I expected.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOyWWhYDzlX1uVLlFP2QAoSbBzVBATFOi64q3solcBERsn9kVQ9dwNhY2G_xjfxWebyN4kAt55P7D8EppiSmVr-40oo4GMROkatVYc4OtBgawu_ukw-yQsCy5fy8ylfK36dsaBm8KDR9Gp/s1600/DSC_0025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOyWWhYDzlX1uVLlFP2QAoSbBzVBATFOi64q3solcBERsn9kVQ9dwNhY2G_xjfxWebyN4kAt55P7D8EppiSmVr-40oo4GMROkatVYc4OtBgawu_ukw-yQsCy5fy8ylfK36dsaBm8KDR9Gp/s320/DSC_0025.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
You know I LOVE <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz" target="_blank">Gecko Galz</a>. I love that there are so many images to sooth my creative mind. And I can do anything with them! Well, I found that I needed some small note cards that were rather generic but pretty. So, off to Gecko Galz. I found these images in this month's kit and they were perfect. It is a sheet of them. I trimmed them to fit on small notecards and double matted them. Added some thin twine and stickle and DONE! Perfect. The recipients have loved them too. It looks like I spent some time making them but in reality I think I was done in half an hour! LOVE.<br />

<br />
And this. I cannot express how pleased at the end product of this layout. I think a huge part is I love the subject matter! Hehe. I made this with some of the papers from Authentique's Durable line. Really smitten with those papers! Had a blast making the chipboard gears look like real, rusty metal gears! Lots of mixed media techniques. It looks awesome framed and hanging in the gameroom. <br />
<br />
Well, I hear stirrings in the house which means I better get a move on! I hope you have a great day. Inspire someone today!Terri Burnettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05154996148528729574noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5808183920042468170.post-42751379187157474422015-06-30T07:28:00.001-07:002015-06-30T07:28:22.777-07:00High Tea and flowers and a FREE STAMPGecko Galz always has to best images! Every month I am blessed to get to play with the images and share some fun projects with you. This month I chose to work with images for High Tea, florals, and Cinderella!<br />

<br />
This card was made using the High Tea paper pack and the High Tea Icon 1 set. I added the paper for my background then layered the frame over the teapot image. The frame is adhered with scrap dots giving it lift and dimension. I also added some stickles around the frame for sparkle! A delicate bow on the bottom finishes it off.<br />
<br />

<br />
One of my favorites this month is the Cinderella images! I chose this vintage looking Cinderella scene from the Cinderella 2 images and combined it with the High Tea paper pack to create this card. I absolutely LOVE the papers in this set! Great for cards. I began with the paper then added a white mat on the lower section. I added some vintage ribbon along the line of the paper. The crown was cut on my Cameo (I cut an original in blue and an external offset in white) and blinged with rhinestones. I then add the image triple matted in the lower corner. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIiPTswUnWSaBxsC4EFZiWCGJYegTgFBBy8nYjeQZ6gInIlID-GBu8IOkkDKiX1JL6e_QE6rseOg4AMQSYyOtJyB11a-wQ2TtzkRKtl9yF0yY4BAJvsRNE7kgZH7yWH-2UId6kgAoOTzpK/s1600/DSC_0007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIiPTswUnWSaBxsC4EFZiWCGJYegTgFBBy8nYjeQZ6gInIlID-GBu8IOkkDKiX1JL6e_QE6rseOg4AMQSYyOtJyB11a-wQ2TtzkRKtl9yF0yY4BAJvsRNE7kgZH7yWH-2UId6kgAoOTzpK/s400/DSC_0007.jpg" width="267" /></a></div>
<br />
And finally I have this great card to share. The High Tea Icons 1 has so many cute images, The teacup with the flowers is one. I began with the papers from the High Tea paper pack. I then added a small burlap ribbon around a melon piece of cardstock. The vintage doily was wrapped on the right edge and then the entire thing was adhered to my base paper. I added the image using scrap dots to give dimension. I cut a small tag from the paper pack and stamped "tea for two". It is dangling from some silk ribbon. The picture just does not do the image justice. The colors are amazing and the clarity of the image is stunning.<br />

This is one of my recent albums. Made with the Bo Bunny Enchanted Garden collection. This holds sooooo much! Took some time, and some serious magnets, but love the end result.<br />
<br />
I will be back soon with some more goodies to share. Enjoy you day - summer days!<br />

So many things occupy our time and our minds. I am trying to play catch up at this point. So today I am posting a visual feast of sorts! These are some of the things I have been working on. Of course they have Gecko Galz images, mixed media fun, and so much more. Grab a cup o Joe and enjoy!<br />

I am amazed at quickly time is just passing by. I thought I would post a few projects that I have completed recently. You know. A bit of inspiration to start the weekend.<br />

These all contain Gecko Galz images from March and April. So much fun to make!<br />
<br />
Also, a project from the store:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

A fun little mini for Easter. The cover is actually a pocket to hold the adorable carrots and a small pic or two. The pages were all shaped and interactive. Loads of fun!<br />
<br />
Have a wonderful weekend be it rain or shine!<br />
